Quality timothy hay, wood chew stuff, pumice, hay blocks (60% Alfalfa/40% Timothy), Reverse Osmosis water, Proper "Treats" , no fruits or veggies.Proper cage and 15 in Chin Spin Wheel. Chinchillas are Fantastic Pets ! I have known this for years... I became involved in fostering Chins from the "Arlington Exotic Animal Rescue", where as over 26,000 plus total animals were rescued from a very poor situation - I was fortunate to be a "Foster Mom" to two of the Chinchillas. They have since found a terrific home. I have also placed other "Chin Kids" in approved Forever Homes. Temp Control - Chins MUST be kept in your home at NO MORE than 75 degrees, 70 degrees, best. - Very Important ! Due to hair/fur density , can die of heat stroke in a matter of minutes ! Treats: No Raisens/fruits Please - I feed my kids 1/2 half (No-Sugar) shredded wheat per night, also a Rose Hip (Super loaded with Calcium and some Vit C). All Chins Adopted must have an approved Cage and Exercise Wheel. Again, I will talk about diet. You also must be 21 years of age or older to adopt.
